Byron Bay - Australia
Byron Bay is all about the sea. There are few places where the ocean and the sand meet in such pristine conditions. Byron Bay is one of Australia’s most famous destinations. It has been a magnet for people seeking alternative lifestyles since the 60’s. Byron Bay is a beautiful destination for your wedding – imaginative venues and first class suppliers – all situated in this very unique part of the world. Divinity is Byron Bay’s most experienced wedding and event planner – specializing in stylish beach and hinterland ceremonies and receptions. You can try to Kayak with the dolphins or sign up for a workshop in how to channel the dolphins. Things to do are not limited to the young and the restless, or the bold and the beautiful, there are plenty of things to do for the whole family from babies to Nan and Pop. There’s ultralight flights and sea kayaking out with the dolphins. You can take a surfing lesson (you might surprise yourself), parachute out of a plane, horse ride, bike ride, snorkel, scuba dive at our Julian Rocks Marine park reserve, play a round of golf; do yoga, pilates, singing, dancing, acting and much more! On one hand it has, historically, been associated with the alternative lifestyle movement of the 1970s and seen as a kind of interesting hippie retreat in northern NSW. On another level it has been seen as a very upmarket get-away-from-it-all retreat for wealthy southerners not wanting to mix with the hoi polloi who inhabit more vulgar coastal townships like Coolangatta and Tweed Heads. Sleep was calling loudly so we meandered back via the road (not a patch on the beach walk) and collapsed into our room. Belongil Beachouse was not the romantic beach oasis we imagined and our room was simply a let down. Your body, specifically your face and neck, will benefit immensely from this process. It’s also the place on the north coast for whale watching from June to September. Rather ironic, given that before its closure in 1962, the Byron Bay Whaling Station was one of four on the east coast catching and processing whales during the migration. Good views of humpback whales on their migration up the coast to Hervey Bay can be seen from the cape in July and on their return in September.
